• <p>PUBG Mobile is set to be updated to version 1.0 on 8th September, bringing a host of visual updates and gameplay improvements to the popular battle royale. Now, it's been revealed that the classic map Erangel will also be updated with a visual overhaul and be rebalanced.</p><p>This was the 'surprise' that the PUBG Mobile team previously teased when announcing the 1.0 update recently. The changes to Erangel are designed to make the old map feel fresh once more with revamped visuals, new map elements, resource point changes and redesigned buildings.</p><p>Specifically, players will find trenches, tree-trunk barriers, abandoned tanks and various bunkers to duck behind for cover. Similarly, the numerous buildings dotted around the map have also been adjusted, which means players will need to relearn their layouts and adjust their strategies accordingly.</p><p>Several in-game locations such as Sosnovka Military Base, Mylta Power, Mansion, Prison and Mine Zone will have the loot, gear and other resources found there rebalanced. Players can also expect to find better loot in the more rural areas of Erangel too.</p><p>As mentioned, the visuals have been overhauled too with upgraded lighting systems that will apparently give more life to the vegetation, sky and water effects. <p>It's rare that we get personal games on iOS, and even rarer that they blend interaction with storytelling in a meaningful way.</p><p>So DivCircle, a game that achieves this much, certainly deserves some recognition.</p><p>It was created by Amidos Games for the Arabic Game Jam 2014, and then expanded upon. The theme of the jam was "invisibility," which Amidos brings a personal spin to.</p><p>"The game is about diversity and feeling different from society and trying to hide all the time," developer Ahmed Abdel Samea told us.</p><p>The game starts with the screen split horizontally by two bold panels of colour, one black and the other white. There's a statement in the middle that reads:</p><p>"You are different but afraid to stand alone. So go on, touch the screen and rotate, so you can blend with others."<p>Microsoft is running hot and cold after seemingly announcing a competitor to Google's Cardboard, before pulling the ad just hours later.</p><p>The image broke cover to promote a Russian virtual reality hackathon and features a girl holding a housing with the branding 'Microsoft VR Kit' across it.</p><p>This 'hackathon' page vanished later and hasn't returned but you can take a look at the archived page here.</p><p>This promotional image appears to show a low budget headset affixed to a Nokia Lumia smartphone, which adds more confusion to the recent speculation that Microsoft is stepping away from the Windows Phone platform.</p><p>Microsoft has recently announced augmented reality product HoloLens and partnered with Oculus to offer an Xbox One controller with each consumer headset, so it clearly sees some the potential in virtual reality.</p><p>Whether this latest move is a bungled PR stunt (or even a fake) has yet to be seen.</p>
